The Small Print/Terms & Conditions Please read this, boring but important!
|
The following conditions, together with our brochure and web site descriptions, form part of your contract with Thai Motorcycle Tours.
The Contract. A contract is deemed to exist once a booking has been made "definite" by telephone, fax, e-mail or letter AND a confirmation invoice has been issued by Thai Motorcycle Tours. By signing the booking form you accept these conditions, including and on behalf of all of the persons named on the booking form and/or invoice, also including anyone added subsequently.
Reservations and payment. A £50.00 deposit per person is required to make a reservation unless otherwise stated. No booking is deemed confirmed until payment has been acknowledged by Thai Motorcycle Tours. Balances are always due no later than four weeks in advance of your date of travel. No reminders or statements will be sent.
Personal accident insurance. It is a condition of booking that you have appropriate travel insurance, which offers cover while motorcycling. Written evidence of appropriate cover is required and it is your responsibility to provide this. Thai Motorcycle Tours accepts no responsibility for a customer's failure to arrange appropriate cover or to provide us with details before travel.
What's included. Please see the terms and conditions stated on our web site/brochure, but we can promise breakfast, lunch, evening meal up to 500 baht, fuel and oils for the duration of your tour.
What's not included. Personal travel insurance, flights, visas, pre-and post tour accommodation and single room supplements. Please see FAQ and booking form. Also excluded are clothing, drink, souvenirs, and additional request items, such as luggage carriers.
Amendments. Reservation amendments by you following issue of a confirmation invoice and/or receipt of full payment must be made in writing and incur an amendment fee of £25.00.
Cancellation by customer. Prior to 4 weeks before your holiday, cancellation will incur loss of deposit. Within 4 weeks of travel, the charge will depend on the arrangements booked. It will be at least 20%, and if less than 14 days prior to the event, will be 100%. A no-show always incurs 100% charges. Cancellation is only effective when written notification is received by Thai Motorcycle Tours. It is your responsibility to ensure such notification is received.
Cancellation by us. (A) Thai Motorcycle Tours reserves the right to cancel Tours up to 14 days prior to commencement if minimum tour numbers have not been reached or if a rental motorcycle or substitute is no longer available. Thai Motorcycle Tours is obliged to give you as much warning as possible of any cancellation, and will make every endeavour to offer an alternative. If there is no suitable alternative, then the tour cost will be refunded in full, which will constitute full settlement. Thai Motorcycle Tours is under no obligation to refund the cost of additional arrangements such as extra nights accommodation or flights. (B.) Thai Motorcycle Tours and its guides reserved the right to accept, decline or restrain any customer from any tour at any time, and to cancel any contract on grounds of non-compliance with these terms and conditions, those of the guides, local traffic regulations or a guide's requirements for group travel. In such circumstances no refund will be due. Customers agree to except the authority and rules of Thai Motorcycle Tours , its guides and agents.
Acts of God. Thai Motorcycle Tours, our agents, assigns and contractors accept no responsibility for and shall not be liable in respect of any loss, damage, alterations, delays or changes arising from circumstances beyond our control, such as but not restricted to; war or threat of war, riot, industrial dispute, civil strife, fire, adverse weather conditions, terrorist activity, natural and nuclear disaster, technical problems with transport, computer malfunction, cancellation of scheduled or charter airlines, closure or congestion of airports or ports, disease or financial failure of contractors. UK foreign office advice at the date of travel is regarded as decisive where relevant.
Refunds. There are no refunds if a motorcycle is returned before the end of the tour or if the tour is curtailed.
Motorcycle type. Thai Motorcycle Tours and our guides understand the importance of providing you with the model of motorcycle you have requested and will make every endeavour to ensure that you are allocated that model. However, the right is reserved to supply an alternative motorcycle if for any reason the model requested is unavailable. Any changes in rental rates are to be negotiated locally between you and our guides direct. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the motorcycle supplied you must report this to our guides immediately upon collection, and if necessary to Thai Motorcycle Tours. Later complaints will not be accepted.
Tour description. Whilst every effort is made to be as accurate as possible in our brochure/web site descriptions, Thai Motorcycle Tours reserves the right to amend the tour itineraries before travel, also to amend itineraries during the tour if, in the professional opinion of the tour guide it is so required by local circumstances or the number or riding abilities of the tour participants.
Mechanical difficulties/accident. In the event of a mechanical breakdown or accident report this to your guide on the emergency number issued to you before the tour. The rear guide will catch up to you as quickly as possible, (contact the police in the case of accident) and stay with you through the proceedings. We will then issue you with the spare bike from the pickup and you will be able to continue your tour. Do not attempt repairs yourself or have them undertaken without our prior consent.
Security/damage deposit. You are always required to leave a deposit and your passport (this is Thai law and cannot be avoided, we will provide you with a photocopy before you do so) with our contractors at the start of your tour, usually equivalent to the insurance excess (deductible). Any damages will be deducted by the contractor at the end of your tour.
Passports/visas. You must have a valid passport with at least six months validity after your return date. It is your responsibility to ensure this, to ensure that you comply with the entry regulations for Thailand, to obtain and paid for any visas that may be required and to take all necessary documentation. Thai Motorcycle Tours will not be liable if you fail to discharge these responsibilities.
Driving license. For all rentals you must have a full motorcycle driving license, or national equivalent for non-UK residents. An international driving license is also required, but is not sufficient in itself.
Age and experience. Minimum age and experience restrictions apply, and are stated for each tour. It is your responsibility to ensure you meet any requirements. Neither Thai Motorcycle Tours,, our contractors or guides will be held liable for your failure to meet the stated requirements.
Pillion passengers. Passengers/non-riders are more than welcome on all Tours. Only pillions notified to Thai Motorcycle Tours may be carried. Pillions not on the booking sheet may be carried for an extra charge.
Helmets. It is a condition of Thai Motorcycle Tours, and indeed Thai law, that you wear an approved crash helmet when riding a motorcycle. We are sometimes able to provide helmets locally, but we strongly encourage you to bring your own. Thai Motorcycle Tours accepts no liability for the condition of any crash helmet.

Please notify Thai Motorcycle Tours of any special requests you may have at the time of booking e.g. diet, disability, allergies or even special events, birthdays etc. There may be additional charges for any such requests, but we will try to arrange for all such requests to be met.
Riding areas. When touring it is your responsibility to follow any instructions or information issued to you by the tour leader. As a general rule, you must not leave the country, travel on private roads, or take the motorcycle off-road without our prior permission. Breaches of restrictions may invalidate travel and motorcycle insurances.
Prices. The prices shown in our brochures and on our web site are correct at the time of going to press. Thai Motorcycle Tours makes every endeavour to keep these prices, but changes in local regulations or exchange rates may lead to changes in the price charged. We guarantee that no surcharges will be levied once the tour has been paid in full.
Complaints. If you have any complaint about the service that you have received from Thai Motorcycle Tours , our contractors or guides we require you to do the following.
